It's been more than 20 years since I was an undergrad at MSU, but I still feel the same excitement
every year as school starts. Labor Day is my New Year's Day--a fresh start, new resolutions, new
ideas. PLP was one of several new starts for me this year, and it has been the most intense learning
experience I have had since college. My beliefs about teaching, learning and technology have changed
and grown dramatically. In addition to the intellectual challenge, the relationships nurtured through this
process have been incredibly enriching. The more I learn, the more I realize how much more I have to learn!
Participating in PLP has also impacted me as a parent. I have two children who are 13 and 9. Both are
very active users of technology, but neither are receiving at school the kind of instuction I want them to have.
I'm fortunate to be able to provide that learning for them.
